013. Let the cats go outdoors (4/4)

This task is now done!!!

I let the cats out yesterday while I was having breakfast. I got their leashes on and let them out on their own. Sitting at the dinner table I could keep an eye on them...

JumJum didn't like it without me and decided to just spend three minutes on the porch before heading back in. Skorpan didn't seem to mind being on his own and looked quite comfortable while enjoying the few rays of sunlight we had. He made me laugh when he focused on this particular spot in the grass. He sniffed around, started to dig a bit and then he threw himself in the grass and started to roll from side to side. He got hold of his leash and started kicking and biting at it while rolling around in the grass. This kept him entertained for several minutes. He was all damp when returning indoors.

Can't wait for warmer temperatures, less wind and more daylight so we can spend more time in the garden together!

013. Let the cats go outdoors (3/4)

I was up before 8am on Sunday morning. That doesn't happen too often... I had my breakfast while reading the newspaper and after getting myself ready (hair in ponytail, teeth brushed and bundled up in warm clothes) I took the cats out for an hour...

It was real windy and we had a blast playing around with the leaves. I picked them up. Dropped them. And the cats chased and caught them. The whirly winds made for some cat sommersaults in the air.

Skorpan and JumJum weren't too interested in in walking around the garden and I believe it was the wind. We spent most of the time up by the veranda.

013. Let the cats go outdoors (2/4)

I spent a little time outdoors with the cats on both Saturday and Sunday this weekend. But it wasn't at all as much as last weekend... The weather wasn't close to being as wonderful and the strong winds really scared the cats. I stayed out for about half an hour on both days but most of that time I was alone. Skorpan and JumJum took one or two walks around the upper parts of the garden before deciding not to come out more. Instead they sat by the porch door looking at me and occasionally sniffed the air...

013. Let the cats go outdoors (1/4)

Saturday morning the sun was just amazingly bright and warm. I spent time outdoors with the cats for an hour and a half. It's wonderful to see how excited they are when they're outdoors. The energy!!!

Sunday afternoon we spent about half an hour in the garden until someone walked by with two barking dogs. The cats disappeared indoors and refused to come out again.
